WHOLE FOODS MARKET

Creative Direction:

During my tenure as Creative Director at CDS, I was privileged to work on several meaningful projects for Whole Foods. It was a blast to lead our design department as we engaged with a transformative company, committed to connecting with customers on a local level.

KNOXVILLE, TN

I spent three days in Knoxville with my creative team, getting a feel for the city and people. We discovered a community with an appreciation for the outdoors, music, art, hand-set letterpress and a deep connection to Appalachian culture, which made a big impression on our design.

KOHL CHILDREN’S MUSEUM, CHICAGO

We built a farm-to-table Whole Foods market in an underutilized section of kid’s museum.

I designed fixtures and displays that echoed the playful nature of my drawings. We aimed to stimulate creative thinking as kids explore the connections between food, where it comes from and how it gets to people.

Early Conceptual Overview

PORTLAND, OR

I led the CDS creative team on the Bridgeport remodel. We transformed some bad 80’s architecture into modern decor more in line with Whole Foods’ aesthetic. We incorporated the architecture of Bridgeport’s iconic steel bridge. This was one of several successful Portland area renovations in 2015.
